NEUROPUBLIC was invited in the 1st Greek FabSpace 2.0 Open Day titled «New Business Models for the Exploitation of Earth Observation Applications and Opportunities for Business Development», which was hosted by Corallia on 8/3/2017.

The aim of the event was the presentation of the FabSpace 2.0 platform to a wide audience consisting of students, researchers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in learning about the endless business and innovation opportunities offered by earth observation and space data, and its integration as a mean for supporting innovation in a wider collaboration context between various bodies, which has been established under the umbrella of Corallia’s si-Cluster.

During the event, NEUROPUBLIC was invited to share its experiences from its long-time collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and its participation in the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC), towards the design and development of an open thematic marketplace for applications, services and data related to Earth Observation. At the same time, NEUROPUBLIC had the opportunity to refer to parameters and features of the marketplace that would have a special interest for a company like NEUROPUBLIC, which exploits different data types for “feeding” its services.

NEUROPUBLIC was also one of the companies invited to present the ways through which they exploit earth observation data in their services. During the specific session, a presentation of the company’s smart farming project took place, focusing on the role of satellite data and earth observation technologies in the smart farming services that NEUROPUBLIC designs and develops, aiming at supporting and improving the Greek agricultural production in various areas of Greece.

FabSpace 2.0 is a network that aims to support geodata-driven innovation. Through Horizon 2020 funding, the FabSpace 2.0 project aims at launching GIS open innovation one-stop shops (FabSpaces) in European universities and Business Incubation Centres of the European Space Agency (ESA BICs). In the context of this effort, the FabSpace 2.0 Open Days welcome students, researchers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in learning about the endless business and innovation opportunities offered by earth observation and space data.
