NEUROPUBLIC presents gaiasense system in Crete
Με μεγάλη επιτυχία πραγματοποιήθηκε την Τετάρτη 24 Οκτωβρίου η εκδήλωση της NEUROPUBLIC για το σύστημα ευφυούς γεωργίας gaiasense με τίτλο «Το gaiasense πρωτοπορεί στην Κρήτη», στο ξενοδοχείο Aquila Atlantis Hotel στο Ηράκλειο, Κρήτης. Περισσότεροι από 100 φορείς του αγροδιατροφικού τομέα της Κρήτης, μεταξύ των οποίων γεωπόνοι, παραγωγοί και άλλοι παραγωγικοί φορείς, έδωσαν το παρόν στην εκδήλωση, που είχε ως στόχο την παρουσίαση όλων των πτυχών του καινοτόμου συστήματος ευφυούς γεωργίας gaiasense. Ταυτόχρονα, είχαν τη δυνατότητα να δουν από κοντά έναν από τους τηλεμετρικούς σταθμούς που η NEUROPUBLIC σχεδιάζει και κατασκευάζει στις εγκαταστάσεις της στον Πειραιά.
The event organized by NEUROPUBLIC S.A. on the 24th of October regarding its gaiasense smart farming system was a huge success. The event was titled: “gaiasense pioneers in Crete” and took place at the Aquila Atlantis Hotel at Heraklion, Crete.
More than 100 entities of the agri-food sector of Crete including agronomists, producers, and other agrifood bodies, attended the specific event, which aimed at the presentation of all aspects of the innovative gaiasense smart farming system. At the same time, the participants had to opportunity to see closely one of telemetric stations that NEUROPUBLIC designs and constructs at its facilities in Piraeus.
The event started with a greeting by NEUROPUBLIC’s CEO Mr. Ioannis Koufoudakis, to those who attend the event and continue with presentations of NEUROPUBLIC’s executives of the 4 dimensions, which refer to the sources of data that are collected and processed by gaiasense
The four data dimensions of gaiasense
Mr. Stergios Dimou Sakellariou, Mechanical Engineer, presented the field dimension and the agro-telemetric station, which NEUROPUBLIC designed and develops. In continuation, Mr. Dimitris Sykas Earth Observation & Data Science Chief Engineer and Mr. Vassilis Protonotarios Agronomist, Outreach and Networking Manager, presented the dimensions of remote, eye and farm.
Live demo of the gaiasense applications
After the completion of presentation of the four dimensions of gaiasense, the participants had the opportunity to watch a live demo of the applications of gaiasense for smart fertilization, smart irrigation and smart crop protection. This session was undertaken by Vassilis Protonotarios and Kostas Michos.
At the same time, the participants were informed on the results from the use of gaiasense by agronomists and producers, and had the opportunity to watch recorded video messages of producers, in which they talk about their personal experience the economic and quality benefits, which they reaped by using the gaiasense system.
gaiasense services – The development plan for Crete
Subsequently, Mr. Ioannis Galatoulas, Commercial Director of GAIA Epicheirein, presented the gaiasense services as well as the expansion plan of the gaiasense network into the areas of Crete during the next period.
gaiasense and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)
The participants showed a strong interest for the presentation of the Executive Manager of IACS of GAIA Epicheirein Mr. Dimitris Kapnias, who focused on the way in which gaiasense addresses the beneficiary requirements of CAP, in which he referred and was combined with references from representatives and important entities of European Union, such as the Directorate General of Agriculture of E.C., COPA COGECA and Farm Europe.
The role of science into the gaiasense smart farming system
Thomas Thomidis, Associate Professor of Plant Pathology of the Alexander technological Institute of Thessaloniki and Angelos Patakas, Director of Laboratory and Plant Production of the University of Patras presented the important contribution of the scientific community into the formulation of a good agricultural advice, and their contribution in the differentiation of gaiasense among other smart farming systems
New type of agricultural advisory services
The presentations of Mr. Nikolaos Stoupis, Former General Secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food and Mr. Panagiotis Kakafikas President of AEIFORIKI S.A., were of special interest to the participants. Both presentations referred to the new type of agricultural advisory services, which are based upon smart farming, as well as the role of the agronomist in them.
