Elassona – Almond

In cooperation with the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Elassona, gaiasense is supporting the cultivation of almonds in the area. The specific cultivation, just like that of other rosaceae, demands special attention with regard to water availability but also of nutrients in the soil. At the same time the cultivation is threatened by diverse pests and diseases.

Through the application of its irrigation, fertilisation and crop protection services, which have been developed for this particular cultivation in the specific area, the producers ensure a more efficient protection of their crops from pests and diseases, as well as better production at a lower cost. Concurrently, the improvement of the production in both quality and quantity, allows to the producers to enjoy a better market price for their produce.
